I work primarily steel and often with found metal pieces or recognizable metal hardware that I assign to a new role. My choice of these found pieces is based more on my attraction to their shape and form and less on their history or previous role, though I do recognize and appreciate that the whimsical character of the artworks is largely due to the past-life of the found objects. Working with found elements is fun and nostalgic, and their uniqueness inspires me endlessly.
I have made art for over 20 years. I have a Master of Fine Arts from Radford University and a Certificate in Museum Studies from Harvard. I have exhibited in juried shows and galleries in eastern United States and Europe with a permanent outdoor piece on the Danube River in Hungary and pieces in gallery collections in Austria and Poland.
