From Junk 2 Funk:
All products are made by me in my home studio in Haddonfield, NJ. I scour the earth for vintage and interesting caps….these are original, old bottle caps, not reproductions. Many of the focal points embedded in the hand poured resin are from nature (ie: flowers, starfish) and the recycled and other elements are piecesI pick up (ie: Scrabble tiles, license plates I cut to get the letters from, typewriter keys, etc…. The cork backgrounds are just naturally part of the old bottle caps. Other backgrounds include glass and/or metal beads and sand. I am constantly changing and evolving what I embed in the resin….everything I see is fair game. All are hand poured to a thick, glossy domed finish with the resin and each is carefully hand drilled.
My parents both had businesses specializing in antiques and re-sale items so I grew up around antiques and advertising/soda memorabilia as a kid…..so I guess it made quite an impression on me. I just really love working with re-cycled and up-cycled materials. That’s how I picked my co name…From Junk 2 Funk!
I would eventually like to have my craft and business evolve into other forms, hopefully with a recycled materials focus.  I am just trying to figure out the ideal balance of work, life, family, art and business…just like everybody else.  Who knows where life will take me; not knowing is the fun part. It is all quite the juggling act.
Currently I travel to over 50 shows a year from upstate New York to Virginia for 9 months out of the year and have a small on-line store.
